To create a template, use the following main structure of a template.

Attend the OLDL- and the OLVDL-Reference in the Document-Area.

OLDL

Projects

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE OLDL PUBLIC "-//OLDL 0.6//EN" "http://doctype.open-lims.org/oldl.dtd" >
<OLDL>
	<HEAD>
		<ID>999999000</ID>
	 	<TITLE>Template Title</TITLE>
		<DESC>Lorem Ipsum Dolor Sit Amet</DESC>
		<VERSION>1.0</VERSION>
		<AUTHOR>John Doe</AUTHOR>
	</HEAD>
	<REQUIRED>
		{...}
	</REQUIRED>
	<BODY>
		<STATUS id="10000">
			{...}
		</STATUS>
		{...}
		<STATUS id="10009">
			{...}
		</STATUS>
	</BODY>
</OLDL>

Sample/Material

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE OLDL PUBLIC "-//OLDL 0.6//EN" "http://doctype.open-lims.org/oldl.dtd" >
<OLDL type=”sample”>
	<HEAD>
		<ID>999999000</ID>
	 	<TITLE>Template Title</TITLE>
		<DESC>Lorem Ipsum Dolor Sit Amet</DESC>
		<VERSION>1.0</VERSION>
		<AUTHOR>John Doe</AUTHOR>
	</HEAD>
	<REQUIRED>
		{...}
	</REQUIRED>
	<BODY>
		{...}
	</BODY>
</OLDL>

This is a Sample example, for Material change the attribute "type" in the "OLDL"-element.

OLVDL

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Notice: Use for your own templates the ID 999999000 or higher. The lower IDs are reserved for offical templates, delivered with Open-LIMS or published on our website. If you are using a lower ID, it might create a conflict.

All kinds of templates have their own ID space. You can use e.g. 999999000 for a project and a sample template at the same time.
